The selection of glass material should be considered according to the required optical properties, physical properties and processing difficulty. For example, if you need to manufacture mirrors with high precision in size, you need to choose glass materials with stable shape.
2、Upper disc grinding disc
In the bilateral grinding process, the first thing to be carried out is the upper disc grinding. This step is to make the surface of the lens flatter and more accurate in size. During this process, the glass material is placed on a flat plate and clamped. The flat plate will slowly rotate while the abrasive material rubs against the surface of the glass sheet, constantly grinding. The grinding time usually takes several hours or more to get the desired results.
